    Verdict

This could turn into a two-horse race, and Qabas is just preferred to Calligraphy, while likely improver Subtle Move should prove best of the rest. Alec Stewart's colt showed promise on his sole juvenile start at Doncaster last season, and was even better on his reappearance when beaten just a neck at Yarmouth. The winner of that race has since finished second in a big handicap while the third, Millafonic, won his next two races so the form looks rock solid and this son of Swain is fancied to get off the mark here. Calligraphy caught the eye when third under a kind ride on her only start last year, and Willie Haggas' filly seems sure to win races in the future, while Subtle Move started joint favourite when fourth on her debut at Leicester, and John Gosden's filly is expected to have learned a good deal from that experience. Tawny River put up an improved performance last time and is the only other runner to merit serious consideration.
