An interesting contest featuring several who are taking a big drop in distance while others step up from 1m2f. Penhill was impressive on his first start for Luca Cumani but very disappointing next time at Newmarket when behind Watersmeet, who went on to run well when fifth at Royal Ascot. Elbereth has won over this trip on the all-weather but was all out to hold off Fire Fighting over 1m2f at Epsom and is 8lb higher. Kinema was raised 6lb for winning the Cumberland Plate at Carlisle while BATTERSEA lacks a recent run but it would be no surprise to see him in the firing-line and it may be worth chancing his fitness. John Reel, Gabrial's King and stablemate Gabrial's Star may find this too sharp while Great Hall is preferred to Windshear and Nancy From Nairobi of the others.
