Doitforthevillage is the senior runner in this but he’s been in good form recently and just didn’t have the pace to cope with a switch back to hurdles at Sandown last time. Admiral Barratry was let down his jumping three weeks ago and may be best on less testing tracks while it’s a long time since Demi Sang got his head in front but The Paddy Pie is slipping towards a decent mark. PRUDHOMME weakened close home and was overtaken by Niven at Doncaster last month but paid for the price for trying to match strides with a back-to-form Ravenhill Road. That was only his third run over fences so he should have more to give and could offer some value against likely favourite Five Star Getaway, who hosed up at Wincanton and Sandown last month but has been hit with a 15lb rise in the ratings.
