It is hard to get away from CAPTAIN ELLIS here; Eastern Warrior and Makhaaleb look the main dangers. The selection returned to form over this course and distance last month when he chased home Royal Destination. He was well supported in the betting and the longer trip seemed to work the oracle that day and he looks worth staying on the right side of. Eastern Warrior is a model of consistency but he keeps finding the one too good and the horse that beat him last time Candy Ride was a beaten favourite on Wednesday. Makhaaleb should be capable of winning races but he will need to step up on what he showed last time if he is to open his account today. Merchant Man shaped with promise on his debut and if he improves for that introduction to the racecourse then he could be capable of taking a hand in the finish. However, Captain Ellis has obvious claims and should be hard to beat.
