chased leading pair, ridden over 2f out, beaten over 1f out
chased winner throughout, ridden over 2f out, tried to close as winner idled towards finish, always readily held
made all, ridden entering final furlong, well in command when idled and edged left towards finish (hand timed)
slowly away, ran very green, always behind, hung badly left to far rail from halfway, never on terms
There is not much public form to go on here but we will put forward ROSE BLOSSOM to get the better of Avonrose and Lady Springbank. The selection finished in mid-division in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot last month when a leading fancy. She had earlier created a huge impression by winning a maiden at Hamilton on her debut. She is clearly quite useful and sets the standard for the others. Avonrose won her maiden in decent style but she was then a little disappointing at Cork last time in a Listed contest and she will probably need to improve to get the better of our selection. Lady Springbank was well backed at Doncaster last time when she ran out a comfortable winner and if she can progress then she would have to be of interest. Gracelightening and Dazakhee are both seeing a racecourse for the first time and they will need to be quite useful if they are to make their mark today. Rose Blossom is clearly quite smart and she gets the vote.
