Verdict

Sceilin deserves to get her head in front again and may be able to do so here but Black Dahlia has blossomed this season and can confine her to the bridesmaid's role once again. The selection does have to overcome a significant rise in the weights as she is now 11lbs higher than when winning so impressively at Doncaster on her penultimate start. However, the form looks solid and she ran respectably under a penalty in a stronger race than this at Newbury last time; she can win again. Sceilin didn't travel with her usual fluency at Pontefract but stuck to her task tenaciously and was rewarded with second place. She should go well again but has had a busy time of things this summer and may soon cry enough. Montrachet appeals most of the remainder although that's not saying an awful lot. Two stand out here and Black Dahlia can put this race to bed.
