Our shortlist here consists of Jordans Elect, Wahoo Sam, Kristianstad and Basinet, with a tentative vote going to Basinet. The selection is certainly well-handicapped based on his win last June from a mark of 60. An eyecatching run at Pontefract last time suggested that he was set to run a good race and today might just confirm that view. Jordans Elect races from a four-pound higher mark than when scoring in June and this course and distance scorer can go well. Wahoo Sam's winning run came to an end last time, where he raced too keenly, but, if at his recent best, cannot be ruled out of a bold show. Kristianstad come into the reckoning by virtue of the fact that he has go himself back to a winning mark. Of the others, Cherished Number is also back to a winning mark so has to be given respect, although he i not entirely straightforward these days. Overall, though, in what is not an easy race to fathom, we will take a chance on Basinet.
