A disappointing turnout for a nice prize but that won't concern connections of DRAGON SYMBOL. Unbeaten in three races on the all-weather, he was last seen when well beaten in the Group 1 Platinum Jubilee Stakes at Ascot but his previous narrow defeat in a Haydock Listed race gives him the edge over Last Crusader. Karl Burke's three-year-old, a comfortable winner of a Listed race at York in May, led for a long way in a Group 2 at the Curragh last time but the concession of 3lb to the selection may prove just beyond him. Boonie was five lengths behind in that Listed event on the Knavesmire and, though 7lb better off, is unlikely to turn the tables and though Edward Cornelius has been running well he has plenty to find on official ratings.
