    Verdict

Abate had Van Gerwen back in third when scoring at Thirsk and is 4lb higher today on his second start gelded. Militia was beaten less than a length when fourth in a blanket finish at Newcastle last time while QUANAH won over today’s trip at Newcastle before struggling at Thirsk. But he’s at his best with some cut in the ground and gets another chance if the going remains soft with winning partner Danny Tudhope back on board for this. Red Stripes saves his best for the all-weather having won just the once in 37 starts on Turf.
