Thirsk winner Fumbo Jumbo failed to cope with a 4lb rise at Doncaster last time and it remains to be seen how well I Know How copes with a 5lb rise for winning at Carlisle recently. AVENUE OF STARS finished well ahead of Naples Bay when runner-up in the other division of the same handicap at Carlisle and he gets the vote to go one better. The latter beat Carlovian in an amateurs’ race earlier and Mark Walford’s charge finished in front of Kodicat when subsequently scoring at Catterick while Guardia Svizzera was placed in a seller a week ago but was due to run here yesterday.
