Monte Mayor One had Ballarina, Sharp Bullet and Cayman Fox behind when scoring at Musselburgh earlier this month. But Jim Goldie's filly was well beaten off her new mark at Ayr on Thursday, finishing more than seven lengths behind runner-up Tangalooma. Jimmy Moffatt's five-year-old should go close here on that evidence, while Richard Fahey's three-year-old Cheeky Wee Red could be interesting off a low weight. But SPARKING is given a chance to prove there was no fluke about her comfortable defeat of Sandwith over C&D last month.
