      Verdict

      Morticia has only been here once, winning on fast ground in July, but failed to beat another horse in two subsequent starts. There could have been something amiss so she's not totally dismissed though stable companion JACOB BLACK looks a better option at present as he's won nine races including a Class 3 handicap at Musselburgh last month. He didn't get the run of the race at Carlisle last time and the winner has scored again since. Zodiakos likes plenty of give in the ground, as he showed on heavy going at Haydock last week for which he escapes a penalty. Southern Rock created a shock when easily beating a 1/12 favourite over the course and distance last month and, if that result could be taken at face value, there's an obvious chance of a follow-up. Harvey Dent attempted to make all at Carlisle last week and battled on when headed so should again go well from the same mark.
