The Shanahan team are 2-4 with raiders from Ireland this season so Wee Willy Wilfords is respected after showing up nicely on his 1m Navan debut behind Stepwise. The Authorized gelding posted a useful performance on debut when beaten a length by Silk Sari after a good battle, the pair pulling 11l clear of the third. Trip and ground are fine. Bomber Thorn looked a surefire future winner when going down to the useful handicapper Continuum on debut at Haydock but was then turned over at odds-on back at that venue by Federal Blue. Again the front pair were clear of the rest but Mark Johnston had the winner that day and therefore has a good line to the form here with Statutory.
