Verdict

Balwearie, Kyle of Lochalsh and Annibale Caro are the three for the shortlist here, with preference for Annibale Caro, who won well at Ayr last time and is progressive. Balwearie won over a two furlong shorter trip last time after some consistent performances and should be capable of seeing out this longer distance. He must go well. Locally trained Kyle of Lochalsh is another in good heart and he will have no problem with the distance. He is progressive and ran well to be a close second in an apprentice contest last time. He is passed over though as preference is for Annibale Caro. He has won his last two starts, at Carlisle and Ayr, and although he started odds on to win at Ayr on Saturday evening, it was the manner of the win which was eye-catching. Annibale Caro gets the vote to complete the hat-trick.
