Raccoon is given another chance, with Dizzy In The Head, Grey Cossack and Winthorpe seen as potential dangers. Raccoon has gained four career victories all over five furlongs, and being blessed with lightning early pace, it was at one time assumed that he would struggle to stay six furlongs. However, his best two runs in the past 12 months have actually been over that trip, here and at Redcar when finishing second on both occasions. Of late he has been staying on at the end of his races over the minimum, including when beaten just two-lengths by Glencairn Star at Musselburgh five days ago. Turned out again quickly, David Barron's gelding can make the most of a fair handicap mark despite topweight to get back to winning ways. Dizzy In The Head has won three times here in the past and should be a danger, but he does have a tendency to hang right on occasions, so a draw in stall one is a worry. Grey Cossack has not won for two years but stayed on well from the rear when fourth at Catterick on his first outing since last July, so has claims of a sort, while Winthorpe ran out of steam badly at Thirsk and on that run does not make as much appeal as the other joint topweight Raccoon who can give his in-form yard yet another winner.
