      Verdict

      BIG LACHIE'S narrow defeat by Tawaafoq at Brighton, when attempting to concede 7lb, was a good effort and he can go one better. Pavers Pride couldn't quite get past Perfect Words at Ayr but is up 2lb and this is a slightly better race. Alsvinder has won three times on the all-weather but been placed just once in 10 starts on Turf while Funkadelic's only success came in a three-runner claimer at Wolverhampton. Cobbler Quinn makes his handicap debut and did a bit better here last time so could pose a threat but Minty Jones has it all to do from out of the handicap.
