    Verdict

Obe Brave is not as good as he once was but is still capable of fair form and Richard Fahey's gelding has to be respected. However, David Nicholls has a strong hand here and it will be a surprise if this does not go to one of his two runners, BLUE TOMATO and Gift Horse, with preference for the former. The selection has twice been successful this season in handicaps and while disappointing last time, he has solid claims dropping into claiming company. Stable companion Gift Horse has struggled against the handicapper over the last two years but cannot be discounted dropping into a claimer for the first time. Neither Pennybid nor Geordie Dancer make any appeal and the only other runner with any realistic chance is Yorkshire Blue, although he will need to improve on all known form to trouble Blue Tomato.
