Verdict

The market should offer the best clues to this race but Taaqaah has a chance to redeem himself at the expense of Cannon Fire and Woody Valentine. Taaqaah was sent off a warm order on his first racecourse appearance in a Goodwood maiden. That maiden was taken by Psychiatrist and with Marcus Tregoning's horse having a distinctly middle-distance pedigree, there is every chance that there is more to come today. Cannon Fire has no problems with the trip and ran his best race to date when finishing second to Cohn Blue at Chepstow. He was disappointing on a previous start at the track and may have something to find to trouble the judge today. Woody Valentine finished second to a useful type in Cusco at Sandown Park. He looks to be the pick of the Johnston entry. College Time hails from a shrewd yard and must be watched in the market for any signs of support. Wing Collar has been well held in both starts and more is required despite Kevin Darley's booking. We though will stick with Taaqaah to justify the long trip North from West Ilsley.
