towards rear, switched right and headway halfway, led over 1f out, ran green and stayed on final furlong
dwelt and hampered start, chased leaders, effort and every chance over 1f out, one pace inside final furlong
The three with race experience haven't shown that much ability, so it would be no surprise if this went to one of the newcomers, and Mark Johnston's Annabel Lee fits the bill. By Halling out of a Sadler's Wells mare, she is likely to be suited by further in time, but the stable is in flying form at present and it would no surprise if she's good enough to land this modest affair. The other newcomer, Aliba, hails from a stable without the best first time out record, and she is likely to need the run. Of those with experience, Docklands Babygirl showed plenty of promise when third in a blanket finish on her debut at Nottingham last month, having met plenty of trouble in running. Bred to be suited by this trip, she looks the pick of those with experience and is preferred to Ceasar, who showed a glimmer of promise on his recent debut but is bred to be suited by a lot further in time. However, Mark Johnston is having a fine season and we'll take a chance that Annabel Lee is good enough to record a winning debut here.
