Millagros got off the mark with an improved performance last time and is fancied to follow up here, with Newcorp Lad and Princess Speedfit the best of the rest. The latter is the best in according to official ratings but has become disappointing after a promising start to the season. The fact that George Margarson has sent her all this way and has booked Kieren Fallon seems to suggest that connections haven't totally lost faith. Newcorp Lad was a decisive winner over this course and distance in a similar event a fortnight ago. He is not obviously well treated by the race conditions but is clearly in great heart and cannot be ruled out lightly. But we side with Ian Semple's Millagros, who seemingly improved when landing a three-runner maiden over nine furlongs here last week, but those sort of races should always be treated with a pinch of salt. However, she clearly handles this tricky track well enough and her stable is in excellent heart at present.
