        Verdict

        Magic Street should be approaching peak fitness after a couple of runs but isn’t particularly well drawn, though makes more appeal than Alpha Dog who hasn’t built on a promising debut. Eddie Kenneally’s colt finished ahead of Maverick Kitten second twice since, here at the start of the year. Conformity should be capable of better but Todd Pletcher’s COWTOWN probably deserves some reward for a string of consistent efforts at Aqueduct. Metcalf ran well at big odds upped to a mile here last month but that looked a modest affair.
