In depth

Verdict

This is probably one of the more open contests on today’s card. Desert General’s second here 12 days ago was his best run for some time and he was only beaten a head by French Quarter here in March. The latter needs to bounce back from a poor run last month but is capable in this grade. BLAKEY has similar credentials but looks the one to beat on his victory here in March as So Long Chuck couldn’t sustain his run last time and has been done no favours by the draw today. Cometin’s fitness has to be taken on trust and he’s changed hands since winning here almost 12 months ago.
