Verdict

ASSET shaped as if he would improve massively for his reappearance and whilst it is a concern to see the visor slapped on, he is still worth siding with ahead of Ceremonial Jade, Bonus and Excusez Moi. Formerly a Listed winner and Group-placed horse for Richard Hannon, the selection joined Godolphin and has only been seen once since. He ran well enough on that outing at Goodwood on ground probably too soft for his liking and one from one on the all-weather before, he may appreciate these conditions more. Bonus is a talented all-weather horse; he has been off the track for five months but should have this race run to suit and may surprise a few. Ceremonial Jade is a course and distance winner and along with Diriculous needs respect, however this looks a tough race. Galeota is best at Doncaster, Racer Forever has disappointed this year, whilst Excusez Moi is a talented horse but his hold-up style means that he needs lots of luck. A competitive conditions sprint, and narrow preference is for the class act Asset.
