A low-grade handicap in which a tentative vote goes to HEIR OF EXCITEMENT. Twice a winner for Kevin Ryan, he's been racing over longer trips since moving to Joseph O'Brien and has dropped to a very lowly mark. Captain Dan scored over this trip at Wolverhampton in December and though beaten a long way on his debut on Turf at Leopardstown found 1m2f on ground with some give stretching his stamina. Watermelon Bay has only had three runs in maidens, producing a fine run when placed in a big field at Leopardstown. He has more scope than any of these and his rider's claim is a major bonus so he rates a threat. Eadbhard easily won a claimer at Ballinrobe last summer but hasn't shown much subsequently.
