Verdict

Tony The Gent is the only course winner in the line-up and he's also scored over the trip. He's on a very long losing run and was over 3l behind GASTA (NAP) when the latter got up close home to score over an extended mile at Cork. Jim Bolger's charge failed to stay 1m3f on soft ground in a better race at Limerick and can get back to winning ways. Emphatic was placed four times in minor company for Robert Cowell and has changed stables while Contrapposto hasn't made the expected progress from scoring at Nottingham as a juvenile. Masalai has won twice at Dundalk but has yet to be placed on Turf.
