Verdict

Duke Of Leggagh, runner-up to the smart Paddington on his return to action over 7f at Naas, went one better in impressive style over 1m2f at Navan where he had seven lengths to spare over Tea Olive. Not surprisingly, he's been hit hard in the ratings and the runner-up should get much closer but the positions should be confirmed. However, THE SNAPPER was conceding that winner 12lb when beaten eight lengths by him at Galway in October and will be receiving 10lb here despite having won at Cork so looks well enough treated to go in again. Mere Accountant had a bit in hand when landing a Dundalk maiden in November so there should be more to come and none of the remainder can be dismissed in a tight-looking handicap.
