Alice O'Byrne looked a likely future winner when narrowly beaten at Limerick on her handicap debut and started favourite at Down Royal but was very disappointing. Lady Mccabe won the race a year ago, her only victory to date, but she's been well beaten in subsequent starts while it's a very long time since Mighty Jeremy finished runner-up at Fairyhouse. Pictures Of Home was narrowly beaten by Free Thought in a Naas maiden in December but the winner has done nothing for the form and KRISTIAN GOINGWEL (NAP) looks the one to beat. He's improved dramatically since turning to fences and is now rated 109, 21lb above his hurdles mark, and Barry Browne's claim further enhances the cause.
