Mr Jack’s Hereford conqueror Torn And Frayed went close under a penalty at Kelso last Saturday. Song Of The Hunter has found only one too good in both starts since switching to Johnny Farrelly and heavy going was a legitimate excuse for Anightinlambourn at Catterick. Olympic Honour can’t get much lower in the weights but Uttoxeter winner Fanfaron Dino couldn’t cope with a 13lb rise at Leicester and races off the same mark in this. Starvoski was probably flattered by his margin of victory at Southwell but he remains very much unexposed, as does GERICAULT ROQUE. The latter got taken off his feet around the tight bends of Fakenham three weeks ago and will appreciate this stiffer test. He beat Natural History at Plumpton the time before and the runner-up easily won a handicap off a mark of 116 subsequently.
Gericault Roque (FR) 9-2 (11-8) Tracked leaders, pushed along 3 out, ridden 2 out, soon outpaced, 3rd of 4, 14 1/4l behind Shang Tang (11-12) at Fakenham 2m 4f (3) sft in Feb.
Starvoski (IRE) 5-1 (10-12) Keen in touch, headway to press leader 2 out, led next and left clear, won at Southwell 2m (4) sft in Feb beating Fortunes Melody (11-3) by 14l, 12 ran.
Long Call 100-1 (9-5) Held up in mid-division, some headway over 1f out, never dangerous, 9th of 12, 5 3/4l behind Hint Of Stars (9-9) at Kempton 1m 3f hcp (4) pol in Feb.
Anightinlambourn (IRE) 6-1 (11-8) Prominent, lost ground into midfield 5th, towards rear 6th, ridden after 3 out, soon weakened, well beaten when pulled up before last, at Catterick 2m 3f hcp (4) hvy in Feb.
Olympic Honour (FR) 9-1 (11-0) Always in rear, well behind 4 out, last of 8, dist behind Eddiemaurice (11-6) at Ludlow 2m hcp (3) hvy in Feb.
Hit The Rocks (IRE) 20-1 (11-4) Chased leaders, ridden 2f out, no extra well inside final furlong, 6th of 14, 4 1/4l behind Atomic Jack (11-4) at Lingfield 2m (4) pol in Feb.
Born To Please 7-1 (10-7) In rear, ridden and lost touch after 4 out, hit 3 out, tailed off from 2 out, 6th of 8, 25 3/4l behind Committee Of One (10-0) at Ffos Las 2m hcp (4) hvy in Feb.
Fanfaron Dino (FR) 15-8fav (10-2) Raced in touch, pushed along before 2 out, soon beaten, 7th of 9, dist behind When You're Ready (11-12) at Leicester 2m hcp (3) hvy in Jan.
Song Of The Hunter (FR) 9-4fav (11-9) Disputed lead, headed 4 out, ridden after 2 out, kept on without troubling winner, 2nd of 13, 3 1/2l behind Our Dot's Baby (10-10) at Newbury 2m 5f hcp (4) gd in Mar.
Mr Jack (IRE) 5-1 (10-13) Midfield, headway to track leaders 3 out, pushed along 2 out, went second at last but no match for winner, 2nd of 10, 10l behind Torn And Frayed (12-1) at Hereford 2m 4f hcp (4) sft in Feb.
Show On The Road 28-1 (11-6) Prominent, outpaced after 3 out, well held before 2 out, 8th of 16, 23 1/4l behind Chinwag (11-3) at Wincanton 1m 7f hcp (4) sft in Dec.
