Verdict

This has been won by some fine hunter chasers and VENITIEN DE MAI can join the list. A decent handicapper on his day, he had My Murphy 13 lengths behind when scoring at Lingstown in November and Enniskillen well beaten when just touched off by the classy Gilgamboa at Down Royal. He hasn't looked at his best in his two subsequent starts though the latest was over the banks course at Punchestown. Call Me Bubbles had some smart form in handicaps for Willie Mullins and made a successful debut between the flags, though he was put in his place by Sizing Coal at Oldtown last month.
