Verdict

Epicuris, a Group 1 winner as a two-year-old, made no impression on his hurdling debut at Limerick in December despite starting odds-on but improved at Naas last month. He was beaten a long way by Cartwright but ran well for a long way and should now be at his peak. Dual bumper winner Avellino was returning from a year off when a very good third behind Dis Donc at Navan last month and further progress will see him difficult to beat. Winning bumper One First Cut may find the ground a bit testing but THREE SWALLOWSNICK is the interesting one here. Gordon Elliott's charge, unbeaten between the flags and in bumpers including a Listed contest, hasn't been seen since pulling up lame at Navan in December 2016 but has the potential to go on to much better things so gets the vote.
