Verdict

Van Beethoven is penalised for winning a Group 2 over 6f at the Curragh but ran below par in the July Stakes at Newmarket when Dunkerron finished fourth. Cosmic Law, Getchagetchagetcha and Burj were all well beaten in the Coventry at Ascot and Junius Brutus never figured over 5f in the Windsor Castle. The remainder step up in class including the well regarded Confiding, who made a winning start at Newbury, while the unbeaten Dark Vision has won twice over 6f and defied at penalty at York last time. Both Drogon and Federal Law have scored over 7f in novice company and BLONDE WARRIOR landed the odds over today’s trip at Doncaster in good style. He’ll need to improve further today but Hugo Palmer’s colt gets a speculative vote in what looks an open renewal.
