Verdict

A staying-on second behind Gleneagles in the St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot, there seems little reason to oppose LATHARNACH. He's gradually been rediscovering the form which saw him beat the very smart Time Test as a two-year-old and Aktabantay is held on the form book. Convey could be anything and it's significant that he makes his belated reappearance at this level - the market will probably be a good guide to his chances. Kool Kompany is useful but has to carry a penalty for his victory in the Craven Stakes, though should again beat stablemate Moheet. The filly Malabar was an excellent fourth in the 1000 Guineas and far from disgraced in the French Oaks last time. She'll appreciate this drop in class and could stay on into a place.
