Verdict

We will side with The Tatling here to land back-to-back wins in this race, with his biggest dangers seen as Avonbridge and Majestic Missile. Much as the selection is eight pounds worse off for the neck he beat Dragon Flyer when securing last year's win, his trainer feels he has him in excellent shape for the repeat bid and has been in better recent form than that mare. Bahamian Pirate has a few lengths to find on the form of last year's race. Avonbridge will be happier over this five furlongs than the six he encountered at Ascot last time and he was two-and-a-half lengths ahead of the selection at Chantilly on good to soft on June 6 plus he is a course winner. For us, that counts for a lot here so Majestic Missile, who is the only other course victor in the line-up and may have needed his recent seasonal return, is another to give serious consideration to. Boogie Street comes out the best of the others on official ratings but the scene is set for an emotional win for The Tatling, and he might just prevail, despite his penalties.
