      Verdict

      The drop back down to a mile on soft ground at Goodwood suited EPICTETUS and he beat the odds-on Nostrum to land a Group 3. Knight and Galeron finished behind the selection and the former may finish closer on only his second outing since April given his yard has won two of the last three renewals. Charyn and Aldaary were no match for Paddington in the Sussex Stakes and the three-year-old may come out best of that pair once again while Random Harvest landed a Group 3 at Ascot last month but faces much tougher opposition in this. Angel Bleu and Holguin have proven best over 7f so far.
