Three horses carrying top weight have won this in the last five years and KINGS GAMBIT can continue the recent trend. After numerous placed efforts, he landed a deserved victory in the Group 3 Gordon Richards Stakes at Sandown in April and can be forgiven last month's poor effort over a longer trip on soft ground in the Hardwicke at Ascot. Forte Dei Marmi is still looking for his best form this season though he wasn't far off it when fifth over C&D in May and he should figure, while Newbury winner Modun has strong claims on his second in the John Smith's Cup at York earlier this month with Constant Contact and Jutland behind. All Action looked ahead of the handicapper when scoring easily at Ascot, but he might not be now as he's been raised 10lb for that success. Prince Of Johanne and Our Joe Mac step up in class and Halicarnassus needs further to show his best.
