Verdict

Few are ruled out in a tricky finale. Hydroplane was only beaten a couple of lengths by an improver at Kempton in March but finished in a bunch along with First Emperor, Grandmaster Flash and the subsequent Ascot winner Blazeon Five. Sashenka has been going well over hurdles but YORKSEA is rated 5lb higher in that sphere and gets 10lb in this. Hollie Doyle is a significant jockey booking for the yard which sent out last year’s winner. Diamond Bay is probably best on Polytrack but is no forlorn hope and Melakaz bolted up at Chelmsford earlier this month. Ehteyat could also figure in first-time blinkers.
