Verdict
Tantina bids to keep her unbeaten record intact and is taken to do so at the expense of fully exposed rivals such as With Reason and Monsieur Bond. Barry Hills' filly has done nothing but improve since making a winning debut at Haydock, adding victories at Yarmouth, here at Goodwood and Doncaster to her record. The latter two came in Listed company, and the way she hacked up on Town Moor suggests that she will not be phased by the step up to this Group 3 contest. Indeed, her trainer was considering going for the Group 1 Prix de la Foret, but has probably made a wise move as she lines up here with all the allowances and will take some beating. The five-year-old With Reason has been on the go all season, and was only beaten in a photo by Polar Ben in the Group 3 GNER Park Stakes at Doncaster. Winner of Newbury's Hungerford Stakes the time before, he gave the impression at Town Moor that he had given his all and might be ready for a break. Monsieur Bond did us a favour when beating Vanderlin at Epsom a fortnight ago and is still in search of that elusive Group victory that connections believe he is capable of. He would have a better chance if not having Tantina to contend with, but should still finish in front of the likes of Marching Band and Stormont. She might start short, but it is hard to get away from Tantina who can complete a five-timer.
