slowly into stride, soon in touch, ridden and no impression final 2f
raced wide, with leaders, led inside final furlong, unable to quicken and headed near finish
chased leaders, ridden and every chance final furlong, not quickened near finish
made most, ridden 2f out, headed inside final furlong, one pace under pressure
raced against near side rail, took keen hold and held up, not clear run and switched right to wide outside and still plenty to do 2f out, stayed on well to lead near finish
pressed leader to over 2f out, weakened quickly
slowly into stride, behind, ridden halfway, soon no impression
Helibel is the selection to open her account over some equally promising fillies such as Corps de Ballet, Nephetriti Way and Royal Zephyr. Amanda Perret has won this event for the past two years and so will be keen to keep up the record with this half-sister to Pentecost. A promising fourth to Dvinsky on her debut over the course and distance, the daughter of Pivotal is thought ready to make amends under Dane O'Neill who takes over from Steve Drowne. O'Neill has ridden all four of the stable's juvenile winners this term, and in what may be a pointer to note, has taken over from another jockey for three of them. Her draw in stall seven can only help and she gets the nod. Corps de Ballet was a promising fourth on her Kempton debut in a race that has worked out well. She too will surely land a maiden before too long, while Nephetriti Way found only the more experienced Urban Rose a head too good on her debut but may need another furlong. Royal Zephyr ran green on her Epsom debut so there will be more to come but on the evidence so far, Helibel must go close and is the pick to beat the equally promising Corps de Ballet.
