In depth

Verdict

Nawamees looked unlucky last time out and can now get his head in front at the expense of Alfie Moakes and Gavroche. The selection has been in consistent form this season and just failed to win last time out when staying on strongly to finish a short head second to Makao at Newmarket last month. This looks easier and if reproducing his last run he should be in the winners enclosure this time around. Alfie Moakes ran well on his seasonal reappearance to finish fifth of fifteen at Chester last time out, that is a tricky course to win at and improvement is on the cards here. Gavroche did not get the best of runs at Lingfield last time out and that run is best ignored. He is better judged on his third behind Arturius at Wolverhamton the time before but he will have to be at his best to win. So for the winner we return to Nawamees.
