Verdict

Shelir carried a big weight to victory at Ripon last time but Haydock winner Alazwar is upped in class. Stately Home was narrowly beaten at the latter track and makes more appeal than Percy's Lad, who won over a shorter trip at Chester, while Red Mirage is also upped in distance. The Turpinator and Substantial are other winners over 7f this year but VIA SERENDIPITY scored over a mile at Sandown in June and remains on a lower mark than when landing this contest last year with Enigmatic back in fifth.
