CRIMSON FERN, in excellent form in the early part of last season, can return to winning form, at the expense of Cake and Osiris Way. Cake is only 3lbs higher than when scoring over the course and distance last time. That was his first win for almost two years and he took advantage of a declining handicap mark. He is in good heart and looks sure to go well. Osiris Way won three times last year, including on his seasonal re-appearance, but though he finished the campaign in winning form, he has gone up the weights and may find others a little sharper. Crimson Fern began her winning run here last year, and comes to hand at this time of the season. She won four races all told this year, and showed real signs of her best form when just edged out in a Listed contest last time. The winner has since been placed in similar company, and Crimson Fern's handicap mark now looks a winning one.
