Wax And Wane completed a heavy-ground double over a mile in the autumn and reappeared in a Listed contest over this trip on fast ground at Lingfield but weakened quickly after leading up to a mile. He has questions to answer but wouldn't be travelling from North Yorkshire without some hope. Bartholomeu Dias scored at Wolverhampton in April but hasn't shown much in subsequent starts over longer trips. Ship Of The Fen's two victories have been on ground with plenty of give and he's yet to race over this trip so the vote goes to DR RICHARD KIMBLE. Mark Johnston's charge is probably a couple of pounds high but stays the trip and loves the ground so looks the one to be on in this small field.
