There does not seem to be much strength in depth to this maiden handicap with Kasban and Squadron being our two against the field, with the vote going to Squadron. Squadron and Ryan Moore look a fair combination here for local trainer Amanda Perrett having shown solid form in maidens and handicaps and he could be open to some improvement on going that is projected to be good to firm, having never raced on anything worse than good to soft on Turf. Kasban cost a pretty penny and, whilst he looks unlikely to justify his price-tag of 360,000 euros, he put up an improved effort on what was his handicap debut when stepped up to 12 furlongs last time. Normal improvement again from that should put him in the mix. Best of the others might prove to be Linlithglow, who looks short of gears but the step up in trip might help in that respect today and Reciprocation might improve in first-time headgear. Once again, though, the selection is Squadron.
