This looks to be a straightforward opportunity for Wazir, who is selected in preference to Aviation and Aberdeen, who look to be the best of the modest bunch that oppose the selection this afternoon. The latter was thrown into the deep end in a Novice Stakes on his debut and fared as well as could be expected against some fair useful types that looks set to make an impact in handicaps. He is entitled to have learnt from the experience and can be found a race in due course. So too can Aviation, who put in a much improved display last time he raced and looks an ideal type to land a small nursery before the end of the campaign. However, the form of Wazir's effort on his debut at Lingfield looks solid in the context of this race, as three subsequent winners have emerged from that contest. All were left trailing in the wake of Wazir on that occasion and he need only turn up in a similar frame of mind to score here.
