      Verdict

      Luca Cumani sent out last year's winner and Laurence is likely to be thereabouts despite finding one too good when favourite at Leicester last time. But PUTTING GREEN was beaten only a nose when runner-up in this grade at Sandown recently and he gets the nod to go one better. Sonnolento has been raised a harsh-looking 8lb for winning at Kempton while Scooner and Martiniquaise make their handicap debuts having both won maiden races on the all-weather earlier in the year. Something was amiss with Rockfast at Sandown last time but he had also won on the all-weather before that and is preferred to River Dart.
