Malyana battled back to score a fortnight ago and can win again. Diamond Diva and Lacework look two for the shortlist. Michael Jarvis has started the season well and with his horse likely to come on for that recent run, he could be up to defying a 4lb rise in the weights for that win. The ground suits and he can continue his upward progression today with another win. John Hills appears to have got his horses running into a bit of form and with that momentum behind him his gelding has claims, although he may need the run. Les Fazzani is one from one after a good win on the all-weather last December. He has place claims at least although a mark of 80 looks a tad harsh on what he showed that day. Lacework should come on (as most of his trainers do) for his debut when he wasn't beaten far, and so he looks a live danger along with last-time out winner Nadawat. An intriguing contest, and Malyana gets the tentative nomination.
