In depth

Verdict

A less perilous ride than normal for these jumps jockeys and last year’s winning team of Trevor Whelan and Bold Runner are back for more. But the latter is 3lb higher this time and hasn’t raced since April and runner-up Mr Fickle arrives in woeful form. 2013 winner Harry Hunt has his first start since May while Rosie Royale bids for a four-timer but was well beaten on a previous attempt at 2m. Hughie Morrison sent out the winner in 2014 but Major Mac is another with something to prove over the distance and stablemate Atalan is preferred. MEGARA has yet to race on Turf but has won twice over 2m at Lingfield and he may prove good enough off his current mark with Be My Sea and hurdles winner Arthur Mc Bride others to consider.
