The old campaigner THE TATLING should be able to make a winning return to Goodwood but will have strong challenges from Superduper and Harlech Castle. The pick has been a good servant to trainer Milton Bradley and is still performing well in the twilight of his career. The grand old days of competing in Group Class may be well gone now but he comes here three pounds lighter than his last victory though the slight worry might be the ground which looks quick enough for him. Superduper races here off a mark fives pounds heavier than his last success but given that came in similar conditions and that he performed well under a similar rating last time he should go close. Harlech Castle has perhaps struggled under slightly high burdens recently and while his mark looks more competitive here he would like a bit of rain to fall to soften things up. Resplendent Alpha is looking dangerously well handicapped on the pick of his all-weather form and has ran well on similar going so he could get into the prize money behind The Tatling who still has the talent to score.
