Borderlescott won this in 2010 and has come out of retirement to try again. MASAMAH won it in 2011 and has bounced back to form having landed a tough Ascot handicap last time. He loves the track and trip and is taken to regain his crown. Swiss Spirit couldn't quite get to Kingsgate Native at Haydock but should turn the tables on the penalised winner though he didn't run as well at Royal Ascot. Jwala landed a Listed contest at York in good style and certainly deserves a crack at this level but the biggest threat may emerge from Tickled Pink, who would definitely have been the selection if the rain had stayed away as she looks a high-class sprinter on fast ground.
