SHIFTING POWER has acquitted himself well in top-class company since winning the European Free Handicap on his reappearance. He was fourth in the 2,000 Guineas before chasing home Kingman at the Curragh and then placed second at Chantilly on the disqualification of Yuften. Richard Hughes will probably try and dictate matters and he should be good enough to hold on for a deserved victory. Hors De Combat and Wannabe Yours both step up from handicaps but are progressive types who could run well, though the former will have to improve again to overturn Royal Ascot running with Bow Creek on worse terms. Lightning Thunder was second in both the English and Irish 1,000 Guineas but flopped when favourite for the Coronation Stakes and has questions answer now. Windfast tries a new trip and this looks a big ask for maiden winner Rapprochement.
